Crossing into the warmth of Sơn Thái valley
Leaving Cat Tien around 5:30am this morning the climate was lovely and cool, but now I was crossing into the warmth of Sơn Thái valley where a view of Nha Trang and the coast can be had.
This landscape is far from having a pristine natural forest, but it's still a view worth stopping for nonetheless.
Every 100m during the descent a palpable increase in temperature can be felt. For someone wearing a winter weather bomber jacket, armour vest, full face helmet, and motocross boots, that is a serious consideration. There is I'm afraid, a tendency to increase my speed to help keep me cool, not the best option on a winding downhill run, but as luck would have it there was little traffic on the road.
