Rồng rắn lên mây
Rồng rắn lên mây could be translated as "snake dragon flies through the clouds" and is a game of group co-operation.
I have yet to witness this game and can only recite the description given to me by Nhi (Rosie) Nguyễn, from the north of Vietnam, whilst I was preparing to leave Ho Chi Minh City.
Rồng rắn lên mây involves a group of perhaps 6 or more people in a line holding on to each others waists to form an imaginary dragon with a long tail.
The leading individual of the group is labelled the "mother" or "head" of the dragon and has the job of defending the tail of the dragon from a singular attacking force.
The attacker attempts to "cut" the tail, by running in-between the line of bodies, but the head of the tail cat thwart each attack by turning to face the attacked and use his/her arms to block each attack.
