It was a relief to pull away from the dull backwater of Snoul, but this notion was dampened by another day of being drenched in rains, at least this time it was not a long drive. The weather cheered up a little on our arrival to Mondulkiri, which helped but did not avert yet another little spat about where to stay. I was beginning to think that travelling solo was the only way that I can travel now, sharing moments of dispute over sleeping arrangements is not my idea of adventure. Our accommodation was in a lodge, a bit mouldy and leaky, but self-contained on stilts surrounded by trees.
